Ecuador is on the brink of its upcoming presidential election

It is my opinion, that the current electoral fervor will soon wane, paving the way for the impending government to confront formidable challenges.

My discourse is directed toward the prospective President of Ecuador. Naturally, not in the capacity of an economist or a political advocate, but rather as a youthful entrepreneur who, akin to numerous peers within this nation, harbors ambitious aspirations for the generations that follow.

Should you espouse the belief that sustainable development is the sole path to extricate Ecuador from its present crisis, I urge you to peruse the Q2 income statements of certain Tech startup enterprises. From my vantage point, the trajectory of political relations with the United States is immaterial. Rather, the crux lies in nurturing the potential of the nation's youth and endorsing and bolstering the nascent startup ecosystem – a preeminent avenue within your purview.

It is plausible that, as President, you may never necessitate employing the services of Uber or scouting for accommodations via Airbnb for your weekend retreats. However, I am confident that you have undertaken searches on Google via your iPhone. You might have procured merchandise through Amazon or indulged in your preferred series on Netflix. Furthermore, during these election campaigns, you harnessed the potency of Social Media. Let us now scrutinize these enterprises from a novel standpoint.

These nine enterprises only over a financial quarter, they paid more than 14 billion in taxes constituting nearly 50% of Ecuador's 2023 entire budget.

While I lay no claim to an understanding of employment generation capacities and their role in augmenting the GDP, it remains incontrovertible that these nine entities alone have yielded an economic contribution fourfold greater than Ecuador's Oil revenue Budget for 2023.

From this perspective, sustainable development and a concerted emphasis on nurturing the startup ecosystem must command a prominent slot on the agenda of your forthcoming administration.

In summation, although the likelihood of politicians engaging with this form of content is limited, I ardently believe that champions of the startup ecosystem should adopt a vociferous stance when articulating their perspectives.
